About Dr. Brosnahan

I am a New York and Connecticut State licensed psychologist with 17 years of experience working with adults, currently seeing clients both in-person and virtually in New York & Connecticut. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Barnard College.  I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus and completed my pre-doctoral internship at North Central Bronx Hospital. Prior to that, I trained and performed research in a variety of settings, including Beth Israel Medical Center, Columbia University Medical Center, The New York State Psychiatric Institute and The National Institute for the Psychotherapies. Upon completing my doctorate, I spent several years  with the New York City Police Department working with members of law enforcement and those who have experienced a range of traumas.

While I work with adults of all ages, I specialize in the treatment of young adults. Other areas of expertise include relationship difficulties, family concerns, depression, anxiety, adjustment/life transitions and questions around identity. While at LIU, I received training at the University’s Psychological Services Center and focused my research on cultural identity development in second generation college students.  I have served as staff psychologist at New York University’s Counseling & Wellness Services and a supervising psychologist at Hunter College's Counseling & Wellness Services.
